Anjo World Theme Park marks 2nd anniversary with new attractions

With the lifting of restrictions on the movement of people, Cebu’s first-ever theme park now offers additional attractions in time for its anniversary celebration.

More fun awaits young and old alike as Anjo World Theme Park, Cebu’s first-ever theme park, will mark its 2nd anniversary on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

"As we approach the Christmas season, Anjo World gladly opens its door to all ages. Starting Nov 25, the park will open daily to welcome more visitors,” says Mr. Chester Lim, president, Anjo World Theme Park.

Mr. Lim assures the public that Anjo World recognizes the importance of ensuring the safety of their guests and staff.

“We continue to adapt the standard health and safety protocols to ensure the welfare of our guests and staff. Let us all enjoy the festivities this season brings with our family and loved ones,” he adds.

The theme park staff are 97 percent fully vaccinated and will soon be 100 fully vaccinated.

According to Lim, they are keeping their rides safe and at par with international standards. He also supports the thrust of the provincial government to open up Cebu.

“Anjo World is one with the province in standing up again so the economy will recover,” he adds.

In fact, the theme park’s foot traffic has increased to 15 to 20 percent. During the pre-pandemic time, specifically on December 2019, the guests numbered around 15,000 daily, says Cedric Reyes, Anjo World head of sales, marketing, and press relations.

Mr. Reyes expects the foot traffic to increase further since they are already allowed 70 percent. However, he maintains that they will continue to control the crowd.

He also reveals that just like last year’s anniversary, children from selected orphanages will be among those who will enjoy the rides at Anjo World,

“This is our second anniversary. Again, we will be celebrating (the anniversary) with over 300 orphanages, the select orphanages that we invite as our CSR (corporate social responsibility) every year, Mr. Reyes says.

During its anniversary, Anjo World features its new attractions such as the 4D eXperience (4DX), a brand new attraction that provides a multi-sensory cinematic experience that targets teenagers and young parents.

Mr. Reyes reveals that there will be 20 movies to choose from for guests who will ride on 4DX. The movie settings include a rollercoaster, dinosaur land, Antarctic, among others. The chairs move in synch with what the guests see during the five to six minute-ride, he adds.

He explains that the theme park wants to offer diverse rides. “Little by little, we will consider some segments of the market, Mr. Reyes said.

As part of their health and safety protocols, Anjo World has installed air purifiers inside the building and the 4D glasses are sanitized after every use. “We make sure that the rides are safe,” Mr. Reyes adds.

He reveals that the Korean manufacturer was the one who installed the rides and the Anjo World staff went through proper training so they could operate the ride.

For the convenience and safety of guests, they can scan the QR code to check out the available menu. Then, the guest can order online their preferred meals from the six food stalls inside the park using their mobile phones and wait for their order at the umbrella-type table with chairs at the al fresco dining areas at the park. The guests will then be informed through text messages that their order is ready for pick up from the food stall.

Mr. Reyes explained that the online ordering of food will prevent crowding at the food stalls.

Anjo World guests will soon enjoy free wi-fi after the theme park partnered with Smart. “Everybody inside the park no matter what the plan or provider they have can have free wifi inside Anjo World. Hopefully, this will be available by the first week of December.

In response to inquiries about a venue for birthday celebrations, the theme park is opening Caffe Colloseo. The new venue can accommodate 50 to 60 persons.

Despite the additional expenses incurred to ensure the health safety of its guests and staff, Anjo World ticket prices remain unchanged.

One of the biggest attractions at Anjo World Theme Park is Snow World Cebu

On weekdays, guests can choose from different ticket packages. Unli Rides, which range from P500, P700 (with Snow World), and P600 (with 4DeXperience. Junior Unli Rides, which are for kids 35 to 55 inches, cost P400 for the basic package; P600 with Snow World and P500 for 4D eXperience. The Super Tres Package, which comprises only three rides) is priced at P250, P450 with Snow World, and P350 with 4D eXperience.

On weekends, the ticket prices are higher - ranging from P600 to P800 for unli rides; P489 to P680 for Junior Unli Rides; and P250 to P450 for the Super Tres package.

For those who prefer to visit Snow World only will be charged P350 while guests will have to pay P250 for the 4D eXperience ride, from Monday to Sunday.

With the relaxed quarantine statuses, starting November 30, the theme park will be open from 12 noon up to 8 pm.
