ARCHTECHCON 2025, a national convention that brings together the country’s most forward-thinking architects and creatives, is set in Cebu to explore how design and technology are transforming workspaces.

Set for July 25 to 27, 2025 at Ayala Central Bloc, I.T. Park, the event is organized by the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) and centers on the theme “Future/Form: Rethinking Workspaces in Design.”

ARCHTECHCON 2025 will examine how evolving digital tools, shifting work patterns, and emerging cultural priorities are reshaping built environments.

Through a combination of seminars, workshops, exhibitions, and networking, the convention will challenge professionals to rethink space not only as a backdrop for productivity, but as a catalyst for collaboration, creativity, and well-being.

According to Ar. Buddy Lim Ong, Chapter President of UAP Datu Lapulapu and Event Chair of ARCHTECHCON 2025, “Designers are now being called upon to create spaces that are not only functional, but also flexible and responsive to the shifting needs of work, life, and culture. ARCHTECHCON 2025 is about exploring those possibilities and imagining what comes next.”

The convention opens on July 25 with a workshop led by USCARS UAPSA, followed by the UAP Sugbu Chapter’s General Membership Meeting in the evening.

On July 26, the spotlight turns to a full-day CPD seminar and a series of design talks that address pressing themes in the future of design:

  • Ar. Arts Serrano of One Zero Design will present on community-driven design through the First United Building.

  • Charles Barrete of Field Ready will speak on mobile makerspaces.

  • Bien Alvarez, who represented the Philippine Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2023, will share insights on interdisciplinary collaboration.

  • Ej Angeles and Idr. Isa Pulvinar of Mold Makati will discuss the evolving role of makerspaces.

  • Ar. Jonathan Cruz of Obra Majoralia Design Studio will explore cultural space-making through the Loboc Performing Arts Center.

  • Mona Alcudia-Ong, MACD, of Studio Unosinotra will examine how youth and digital innovation are influencing the development of future cities.

  • A panel of local leaders will also weigh in on regional practice and future-forward collaboration in architecture, including:

    • Ar. Eden Catalan, UAP, Incoming District Director of UAP District C1

    • Ar. Carmel Lastimoso, UAP, Chapter President of UAP Cebu

    • Ar. Kristin Ducao, UAP, Chapter President of UAP Rajah Humabon

    • Ar. Maegan Bugarin, UAP, Chapter President of UAP Sugbu

A highlight of this year’s event is the Wikihouse Pavilion, a special installation that will house the Build A City: 3D Printing Workshop and Exhibit. This interactive space invites attendees to engage with modular, digitally fabricated architecture while exploring how 3D printing can shape collaborative, sustainable, and scalable urban solutions.

Running throughout the three-day event, the ARCHTECHCON 2025 Exhibition will showcase cutting-edge products, services, and technologies that reflect the changing needs of the architecture and design industries.

This year’s featured exhibitors include: Boysen Paints, RiverRecycle, Durabend, Fablab UP Cebu, Matix UP Cebu, HD Prime Lift, Carrier Airconditioning, Smart Home Cebu, Landlite Lighting Solutions, Architechnologies, Elements Home Depot, and Dr. J Autoklav.

A networking night on July 26 will offer participants opportunities to build professional connections in a more relaxed setting.

Registration is now open. Architects, students, and creatives across disciplines are encouraged to take part in ARCHTECHCON 2025 and contribute to the evolving conversation around the workspaces of tomorrow.

This event is supported by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in continued partnership since the first ARCHTECHCON, alongside PRWorks, Inc. and MyTV Cebu as the official media partner.
