As global capital shifts and supply chains diversify across Asia, the Province of Cebu officially commences its flagship economic initiative: the Cebu International Investment Summit 2026 (CIIS 2026).
Opening tomorrow, January 12, and running through January 16 at the historic Cebu Provincial Capitol Social Hall, the summit aims to pivot Cebu’s global identity from a world-class tourism destination to a formidable base for the "real economy." The event will spotlight high-value opportunities in manufacturing, healthcare, education, and heavy industry.
From Tourism to Trade: A Strategic Pivot
The summit is strategically timed to precede the world-renowned Sinulog Festival. This allows international delegations to engage in high-level boardroom discussions regarding Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and joint ventures before experiencing the cultural vibrancy of the province—blending business pragmatism with Cebuano hospitality.
"Capital is on the move, and Cebu is ready to capture it," states the official announcement from the Province. "CIIS 2026 is designed to convert our global visibility into long-term investment pipelines. We are connecting world capital with real-economy opportunities."
Targeting Global Powerhouses
CIIS 2026 is set to welcome high-level delegations, CEOs, and sovereign wealth representatives from key economic partners, including South Korea, Singapore, Japan, Mainland China, Taiwan, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.
Investors will receive a direct look at the Cebu Provincial Investment & Enterprise Code of 2025, with sessions focused on de-risking entry for foreign capital and showcasing a portfolio of "investable" projects, including:
• Advanced Manufacturing: Auto-parts, electronics, and micromanufacturing.
• Life Sciences: Hospitals, healthcare services, and medical tourism.
• Talent Hubs: Education partnerships and workforce development.
• Infrastructure: Power, water, and mobility networks.
A Convergence of Industry Leaders
The event will convene "Industry Champions" from top conglomerates, including SM, Megaworld, Cebu Pacific, and Aboitiz, alongside global strategy advisors and policymakers.
"We are building a future-ready hub that combines connectivity, talent, and stability," emphasized CPIPD Officer Paulo Uy. "Cebu is open for business, and CIIS 2026 is the gateway."
