The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), in partnership with P&A Grant Thornton, continues to support Cebu’s business community through the ongoing Tax Learning Sessions 2026: a three-part series designed to help business owners, finance professionals, accountants, and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) better navigate today’s evolving tax environment.

The series has drawn strong and consistent participation, with over 200 attendees across the three sessions. This steady turnout reflects the growing priority among Cebu businesses to stay compliant while managing their tax responsibilities more effectively.

The first session, Tax Updates 2026, held on February 20, focused on recent regulatory developments and what they mean for businesses on the ground. Speakers from P&A Grant Thornton walked participants through key issuances from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), along with relevant updates from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA). The discussion also covered notable Supreme Court decisions, helping participants better understand how these rulings may affect their compliance requirements.

The second session, BIR Assessment, held on March 13, shifted to the realities of tax audits. Participants were guided through how assessments typically unfold, what commonly triggers audits, and how to respond when they arise. The session gave practical guidance: from handling documentation requests to addressing findings - helping businesses approach audits with greater clarity and preparation.

The third and final session, Legal Tax Planning, held on April 10, brought the series to a close with a more forward-looking discussion. With 64 participants, the session focused on how businesses can structure their operations efficiently, make the most of available incentives, and plan ahead while staying fully compliant. It also tied together key takeaways from the earlier sessions, reinforcing a more proactive approach to tax management.

The strong engagement throughout the series highlights CCCI’s continued effort to provide relevant and practical learning opportunities for the business community. By focusing on both compliance and strategy, the program supports businesses in becoming more prepared, informed, and resilient.

CCCI extends its sincere appreciation to P&A Grant Thornton for their expertise and partnership, and to all participants for their active involvement.

The Chamber looks forward to continuing its work in delivering programs that respond to the real needs of Cebu’s business community.

Padayon Cebu!
