On August 1, 2025, 54 employees of the company volunteered to plant 1,000 guyabano seedlings on carefully selected and prepped plots of land under the supervision of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources 7-City Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR 7-CENRO) Cebu City.

They were also joined by 11 other volunteers from the Guila-Guila Managhiusa Farmers Association (GMFAI), a local people's organization.

Arnel Lupian, forest extension officer, said the tree planting site forms part of the Central Cebu Protected Landscapewhere DENR is undergoing reforestation project to sustain and rehabilitate it.

Lupian also said the guyabano seedlings were carefully chosen as there happens to be a big market for fruit-bearing trees like it, benefitting the community.

“Magpasalamaton mi sa CCLEC sa pagtabang sa National Government in its rehabilitation efforts ug mapasalamaton sad mi nga nakatabang sad sa community, especially sa people's organization nga nag-manage ani, nag-prepare, ug nag-raise saseedlings nga maka-gain pod sila og additional income,” he added.

The tree planting activity is part of CCLEC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, as a way of giving back to the community, bringing about positive environmental impact to the areas their expressway serves.

CCLEC is the builder and operator of the 8.9-kilometer Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) that connects mainland Cebu through Cebu City’s South Road Properties to the Mactan Island through Barangay Pilipog in the Municipality of Cordova.

CCLEC is a subsidiary company of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the toll road arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), and a member of the MVP Group of Companies.

MPTC is the largest toll road concessionaire and operator in the Philippines, which expansion goals include establishing toll operations in the Visayas, other parts of the Philippines, and in neighboring countries notably Vietnam and Indonesia.
