Cebu Provincial Board Approves P5 Million Aid for Earthquake-Hit Davao Oriental

The 17th Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Cebu has unanimously approved a resolution authorizing Governor Pamela Baricuatro to donate P5 million in cash assistance to the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental. The funds are designated to support Davao Oriental's critical disaster response and rehabilitation efforts following the recent 7.4-magnitude earthquake.

Governor Baricuatro, who had earlier announced Cebu Province's intention to provide aid, certified the measure as urgent, ensuring the immediate processing of the financial help.

The resolution was authored by Provincial Board Members Stanley Caminero and Red Duterte, and co-authored by PB Member Raymond Calderon. It was approved en masse by the entire legislative body, underscoring Cebu's solidarity with the people of Davao Oriental during this difficult time.

The donation reflects Cebu Province’s commitment to extending assistance to fellow local government units impacted by major calamities.
