The Cebu Provincial Government has released a total of ₱171 million in financial assistance to 12 local government units (LGUs) that were severely affected by the 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck northern Cebu on September 30, 2025.

The allocation, directed by Governor Pamela Baricuatro, aims to support ongoing relief, recovery, and rehabilitation efforts in the hardest-hit municipalities and city.

Under the directive, Bogo City will receive ₱15 million, while ₱13 million will be allocated to each of the following LGUs: Daanbantayan, Medellin, San Remigio, Tabogon, Sogod, Catmon, Tabuelan, Borbon, Santa Fe, Bantayan, and Madridejos.

Governor Baricuatro emphasized that the assistance will be utilized to restore essential services, repair homes, and rehabilitate critical infrastructure damaged by the earthquake.

“Kini nga tabang simbolo sa paghiusa ug pagtinabangay sa tanang Sugboanon. Dili ta mag-inusara sa pagbangon,” said Governor Baricuatro, highlighting the spirit of unity and resilience among Cebuanos.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), through its Emergency Operations Center (EOC), continues to coordinate with the affected LGUs to ensure that the funds are efficiently distributed and used for the benefit of affected communities.

This financial assistance is part of the Provincial Government’s continuing efforts to help rebuild northern Cebu and ensure that no Sugboanon is left behind in recovery.
