Over 2,800 advocates, families, and individuals on the autism spectrum gathered at SM Seaside City Cebu on April 27, 2025, for the Angels Walk for autism, a meaningful community event led by the Autism Society Philippines (ASP) in partnership with SM Cares.
The Cebu leg of this nationwide movement brought people together to celebrate neurodiversity and raise awareness for autism. The walk began at the Mountain Wing Atrium, continued through key areas of the mall, and concluded at the Cube Wing Atrium, where a heartfelt program followed.

The program was marked by a symbolic moment—the ceremonial turnover of nine (9) wheelchairs from the Department of Health (DOH) and ASP Cebu to SM Seaside City Cebu, in recognition of the mall's longstanding support and commitment to promoting autism awareness, inclusion, and empowerment. This gesture underscored the shared mission of building more inclusive, accessible spaces for all.
But beyond any formalities, the true highlight of the day was the collective spirit of everyone who walked in solidarity for autism—families, advocates, and individuals coming together in a united stride to celebrate the strength and diversity of the autism community.

The Angels Walk has grown significantly since its beginnings in 2000, becoming a beacon of unity and a platform for championing the rights of individuals on the autism spectrum. More than just an annual tradition, it serves as a powerful reminder and a unified effort to promote awareness, advocate for empowerment, and foster inclusion for individuals on the autism spectrum.
As a trusted partner of the Autism Society Philippines, SM Supermalls continues to pave the way for inclusive mall experiences. SM Seaside stands as a testament to this commitment, offering a welcoming environment and a team of staff trained to provide respectful and compassionate service to all guests.

The Angels Walk for Autism is one of several key initiatives under SM Cares’ Program on Persons with Disabilities, which also includes advocacy for senior citizens, women and breastfeeding mothers, children and youth, and environmental sustainability.
