Cebu Institute of Technology – University once again made a strong showing in the September 2026 Registered Electrical Engineers Licensure Examination, producing three national topnotchers led by the country’s TOP 1 placer.

Leading the latest batch of CIT University topnotchers is Charles Anthony S. Santillan, who secured the TOP 1 spot. He is joined by Kienth Vincent E. Oracion, who ranked TOP 3, and Niño Louie P. Verame, who placed TOP 6.

Santillan’s achievement adds another distinction to an already exceptional academic record. In 2025, he was recognized as CIT University’s King of Engineers, the distinction conferred on the University’s highest-ranking graduating engineering student, recognizing academic excellence and leadership among CIT University’s graduating engineers.

The latest result marks the third consecutive year that CIT University has produced a TOP 1 placer in the Registered Electrical Engineers Licensure Examination.

The streak began in 2024, when the University claimed the TOP 1 spot in both the April 2024 and August 2024 licensure examinations. CIT University followed this with another TOP 1 finish in 2025 and continued the run with Santillan’s TOP 1 placement in 2026.

In total, CIT University has now produced four TOP 1 placers in Electrical Engineering across three consecutive licensure examination years.

The University recognized Santillan, Oracion, and Verame during a Topnotchers Press Conference held at CIT University, where the honorees shared their experiences, preparation, and the support systems that helped shape their journey toward the licensure examination.

Joining the topnotchers during the press conference were University officials, academic leaders, faculty members, coaches, family members, and representatives from various media organizations.

The event also highlighted the work of the College of Engineering and Architecture and the Electrical Engineering Department in preparing students not only for licensure examinations, but also for the professional responsibilities that come after graduation.

The latest achievement also adds to a much longer tradition of licensure examination excellence at CIT University. Over its 80-year history, the University has now produced a total of 786 topnotchers, including 96 first placers.

CIT University likewise recognizes the families, mentors, faculty members, and members of the academic community whose guidance and support contributed to the achievement of its graduates.

Beyond the University’s own results, CIT University extends its warmest congratulations to all successful passers of the September 2026 Registered Electrical Engineers Licensure Examination. Their achievement represents years of preparation, perseverance, and commitment to entering the engineering profession.

The latest performance of CIT University’s Electrical Engineering graduates adds another milestone to the University’s continuing tradition of academic and professional excellence, while reinforcing its commitment to developing graduates prepared to contribute meaningfully to industry, their communities, and the country.
