FLAVORS OF PAMPANGA AT MARCO POLO CEBU

Marco Polo Plaza Cebu pays tribute to Pampanga, with heirloom recipes from the country’s culinary capital presented by guest chefs Rexsan Abarquez and Ronnel Ingal from Marco Polo Ortigas.

Dubbed Flavours of Pampanga, the well-loved gastronomy of the region takes center stage at Café Marco’s buffets from 18 to 21 May, featuring heirloom recipes that won Pampanga a place in the hearts of many Filipinos.

The Kapampangan's passion for cooking traces back to the Spanish colonial period, with cooking methods and techniques learned from the foreign friars and sailors. While the region’s dishes allude to Spanish roots, locals learned to fuse the flavors with Malay and Mexican influences. And by using livestock, produce and spices readily available and abundant in their farms, Pampanga’s kitchens created its own distinctive style preserved by generations as a cherished culinary tradition.

“Flavours of Pampanga offers diners an authentic gastronomic tour of the region” says Executive Chef Juanito Abangan, “and along with the recent Flavours of Cebu at the Marco Polo Ortigas Manila, kicks off Culinaria 2023, a series of events paying homage to regional Filipino heritage cuisine at Marco Polo hotels in the country.”

Flavours of Pampanga is a collaboration with Marco Polo Ortigas Manila and Cebu Pacific, which are awarding complimentary stays in Manila and return tickets Cebu-Clark, Pampanga for 2 to lucky patrons. Children under 12 years receive a 50% discount, and Metrobank credit cardholders enjoy 10% savings during the festival.
