Gabii sa Kabilin 2025 blossoms at 18 with a ‘youthful’ vibe

As the annual Gabii sa Kabilin (GSK) blooms into its 18th year this 2025, a relevant and timely theme is set to drive a vibrant and youthful experience for all participants this May.

This year, we celebrate young Cebuanos as movers of history and in culture and the arts through our theme, “Batan-ong Bahandi”. Our youth’s energy and strength, positivity and idealism, fresh perspective and innovation, when channeled and harnessed properly in their search for identity and pride, will prepare them to be the rightful heirs of the country and the future.

This year too, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines declares the Year of Youth in Philippine History in line with the 150th birth anniversaries of Emilio Jacinto, Gregorio del Pilar and Gregoria de Jesus. 

Participating sites in the cities of Cebu, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, and Talisay are empowered to nurture the appreciation of tangible and intangible cultural assets across generations.

This year's GSK is complemented by a series of talks and workshops that will capacitate the partner sites in a bid to preserve structures, artifacts, culture, heritage and tradition in a contemporary setting.
