Governor Pam Baricuatro personally led the Provincial Government of Cebu team in visiting Barangay Kantubaon, Tabuelan, one of the areas most heavily impacted by the recent 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck northern Cebu.
The Governor’s visit aimed to assess the extent of the damage firsthand and to extend comfort and assurance to affected families. During her inspection, Gov. Pam met with residents—including local officials and public servants—whose homes and livelihoods were devastated by the powerful tremor.
She witnessed the significant destruction sustained by several key community structures such as the Barangay Health Station, Barangay Hall, school buildings, and multiple residential homes, many of which were either partially or completely destroyed. Numerous families remain in makeshift tents and temporary shelters, hesitant to return indoors due to continuing aftershocks.

In a message of compassion and solidarity, Gov. Pam reaffirmed her commitment to helping affected Cebuanos rebuild their lives: “Dili gyud nato pasagdan ang atong mga kaigsuonan. Tabangan nato sila nga makabarog pag-usab.”
The Governor assured the residents that the Provincial Government of Cebu, in close coordination with the Municipality of Tabuelan and other concerned agencies, will continue to provide relief assistance, temporary shelters, and rehabilitation programs to help affected communities recover and rebuild.
Padayon ta sa pagtinabangay, Sugbo. Together, we will rebuild, recover, and rise stronger.
