Governor Pamela "Pam" Baricuatro has thrown the full weight of the Provincial Government behind over 200 Minglanilla families who have been left without the homes they paid for due to alleged irregularities and continued sales despite a long-issued closure order on their housing project.
The Governor personally met with the affected home buyers at the Capitol, offering both compassion and firm assurances of action. The families, some of whom have paid up to \text{P}2.2 million since 2020, sought the Governor's intervention after years of waiting for homes that were never delivered.
Visibly moved by their ordeal, Governor Baricuatro addressed the buyers directly:
“𝙈𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪. 𝘿𝙞𝙡𝙞 𝙡𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙢 𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙖𝙝𝙞𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣. 𝘼𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙠𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙖, 𝙞𝙣𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙗𝙪𝙝𝙞𝙖𝙣 — 𝙙𝙞𝙡𝙞 𝙣𝙞 𝙙𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙜𝙙𝙖𝙣.”
Governor Baricuatro remains steadfast in her mission to protect every Cebuano’s right to fair treatment, honest governance, and a life built on dignity and trust. She immediately took decisive action by ordering key provincial offices to handle the case. She instructed the Provincial Legal Office, Provincial Assessor’s Office, and Cebu Provincial Police Office to coordinate their efforts to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure accountability for those responsible.
The Governor reaffirmed her commitment to the affected families, positioning the Capitol as their primary ally in their quest for restitution:
“𝘼𝙨 𝙖 𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙚𝙗𝙪, 𝙙𝙞𝙡𝙞 𝙠𝙤 𝙩𝙪𝙜𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙣 𝙣𝙜𝙖 𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙠𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙜𝙖 𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙠 𝙢𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙝𝙞𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙡𝙖𝙣. 𝘼𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙠𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙩, 𝙠𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙩 𝙨𝙖𝙙 𝙨𝙖 𝙆𝙖𝙥𝙞𝙩𝙤𝙡𝙮𝙤 — 𝙪𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙮𝙖 𝙣𝙜𝙖 𝙞𝙣𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙜𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙮𝙤, 𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙠𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙣 𝙣𝙜𝙖 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙗-𝙤𝙩.”
The Cebu Provincial Government will pursue all legal avenues necessary to resolve the issue and provide relief to the affected families.
