Honor of Kings Celebrates Filipino Heritage with the Launch of New Hero Inspired by National Icon Lapulapu

Honor of Kings, the world’s most-played mobile MOBA, introduces its inaugural Filipino hero, Lapulapu, inspired by the national hero who defied colonial forces and became a symbol of courage and independence. The hero will be available in the International Edition of Honor of Kings from 21st November, bringing the spirit of the Philippines to players worldwide.

Lapulapu’s in-game appearance is inspired by the iconic statue of the historical figure in the Central Visayas region. He wields a Kampilan sword in his right hand and a Kalasag shield in his left—both reimagined with bold, mythical elements. The Kampilan features a vortex energy core and wave patterns, while the Kalasag is adorned with the fierce visage of Bakunawa, a legendary sea serpent from Filipino mythology.

His design incorporates traditional 14th–15th century Visayan attire, with intricate patterns symbolizing the sun, waves, and scales, reflecting early Filipino animist beliefs and nature worship. The hero’s dominant red color palette embodies his fiery spirit, courage, and unwavering resolve.

Lapulapu Press Launching and Lapu-Lapu Clash 2025

A press launch for Lapulapu's hero release will be conducted on November 21 at The Outlets at MEZ2 Estate in Lapu-Lapu City. This event marks a significant step in the game title's effort to promote local culture around the world.

To add excitement to the event, a two-day tournament—the Honor of Kings Lapu-Lapu Clash 2025—will take place from November 21 to 22. The tournament has a prize pool of ₱100,000, with the champions taking home ₱50,000; ₱25,000 for the first runner-up; and ₱12,500 for the second and third runner-ups.
