Mendero Group Ramps Up Healthcare Investment in Northern Cebu
Mendero Medical Center Cebu, Mendero Group’s flagship hospital, upgrades its radiologic imaging services with the official opening of the Mendero Radiology Center and the launch of its Mobile Clinic Services on September 25, 2026, as the healthcare group responds to the growing needs of Northern Cebu and brings essential healthcare services closer to communities.
In November 2025, Mendero Medical Center Cebu was among the healthcare facilities affected by the devastating Typhoon Tino, which caused significant damage to parts of the hospital and temporarily disrupted some of its imaging services.
Months after the disaster, the hospital has continued its recovery and found ways to sustain its services to the community. With the completion of its rehabilitation efforts, Mendero Medical Center Cebu has now fully restored its radiologic imaging services, further strengthening its capacity to respond to the healthcare needs of patients in Northern Cebu.
“2025 brought significant challenges, from the magnitude 6.9 earthquake to the devastating typhoon. Yet, through every crisis, we have remained resilient and steadfast in our commitment to providing quality healthcare, especially to communities with limited access to essential services. We believe that every challenge is also an opportunity to learn, improve, and find better ways to serve our patients and communities,” said Dr. Samuel Mendero III, Chairman and President of Mendero Group.
Dr. Mendero emphasized the Group’s commitment to underserved communities, particularly as Mendero Medical Center Cebu remains the only Level 2 private hospital serving communities in Northern Cebu.
Upgraded Healthcare for the Community
As a growing healthcare group serving communities across the Visayas and Mindanao, Mendero Group operates Level 2 hospitals in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, and Consolacion, Cebu, as well as dialysis centers in Siquijor and Sogod, Cebu, with additional centers planned in Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental.

The upgrading of our Radiology Center and our investment in Mobile Clinic Services are part of that commitment—expanding access and bringing essential healthcare services to more communities,” Dr. Mendero said.
The latest investment of Mendero Group is aligned with its efforts to respond to the government’s call for the full realization of Universal Health Care, as well as the Provincial Government of Cebu’s efforts to improve healthcare service delivery across the province.
The upgraded Mendero Radiology Center features a brand-new SOMATOM go.Top 128-slice CT scanner, enabling faster and more detailed imaging to support physicians in diagnosing and evaluating various medical conditions and, ultimately, facilitating faster medical decision-making.
“Previously, our CT scanner had fewer slices compared to what we have now. With this upgrade, we aim to improve the patient experience and make diagnosis more efficient through excellent image quality, AI-based positioning, and remote scanning assistance for our radiologists,” explained Ms. Resty D. Manlongat, Hospital Administrator.
Aside from its upgraded CT scanning services, the Mendero Radiology Center also offers X-ray, general ultrasound, and OB-GYN ultrasound services. These imaging services are now readily available within the hospital, reducing the need for patients from Northern Cebu to travel to Metro Cebu to access essential diagnostic procedures.
“Previously, our patients had to go to different units just to access various imaging services. By bringing these services together in one center, we streamline the registration process and address more of our patients’ imaging needs in one place. This makes the patient journey more seamless and convenient,” Manlongat added.
Bringing Healthcare Closer to People
Alongside the upgraded Radiology Center, Mendero Group is also launching its Mobile Clinic Services on September 25, 2026, allowing Mendero Medical Center Cebu to bring preventive and diagnostic healthcare services directly to underserved communities.
“Our first hospital in Pagadian was established by our founders, Dr. Samuel Mendero Sr., a surgeon, and Dr. Malou Mendero, an OB-Gynecologist, as their response to the growing healthcare needs of their community. Twelve years ago, when they decided to expand here in Cebu, they did it for the same reason: patients in Northern Cebu needed their own private hospital,” Dr. Mendero III said.
“So, with the same thrust, and as we continue to grow as a group, we remain committed to being responsive to the needs of underserved communities,” he added.
Dr. Mendero highlighted that the launch of the Mobile Clinic Services reflects the Group’s roots and its continuing commitment to bringing healthcare closer to the people who need it most.
The mobile facility is designed to serve schools, workplaces, barangays, families, and communities, making preventive and routine healthcare services more accessible to people who may find it difficult or inconvenient to visit a hospital.

“Our pricing is also very adaptive to the market. We made sure that we are not only competitive in the quality of service we provide, but also in making these services accessible to the community,”Manlongat emphasized.

“All of these developments and investments in Cebu are just part of our bigger development plans for the whole Mendero Group. We have also been upgrading our 30-year-old hospital in Pagadian, and we are opening more dialysis centers across the Visayas and Mindanao,”Dr. Mendero III said.
