POWER WOMEN CONTINUES: Celebrating Cebuana Leaders Through Exhibit and Advocacy

The celebration of Women’s Month continues in full force as Power Women returns for its 9th edition, with an inspiring photo exhibit officially launched through a partnership between The Freeman and Inner Wheel Clubs of the Philippines Inc. District 386.


The exhibit honors outstanding Cebuana leaders who have made a significant impact across various sectors in the province, highlighting their contributions to leadership, business, and community development.


During the opening program, Evelyn Toledo Dumdum, National Treasurer and Board of Trustees member of Inner Wheel Clubs of the Philippines Inc., emphasized the historical roots of Women’s Month. She reflected on the women’s suffrage movement in the United States, which paved the way for global recognition of women’s rights, including in the Philippines. She underscored the vital role Filipinas continue to play in shaping society.


Quoting Melinda Gates, Toledo-Dumdum highlighted the importance of empowerment, stating, “When we invest in women and girls, we are investing in the people who invest in everyone else.”

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by distinguished honorees, including Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Cindi King-Chan, Inner Wheel Clubs of the Philippines, Inc. District 386 District Chairperson Sunshine Lim, Brgy Basak Lapu-Lapu Barangay Captain Jasmine Chan, Lapu-Lapu City Councilors, Kababayen-an’s leaders, Inner Wheel Clubs of the Philippines, Inc. District 386 Officers and Apple One Group Vice-President for Hospitality Samantha Manigsaca, alongside Mrs Venus Manigsaca.


In her speech, Ms Sam Manigsaca shared a heartfelt message of gratitude and resilience, crediting her mother, mentors, and peers for shaping her journey. She encouraged aspiring women leaders to embrace both success and failure as part of growth.


“Do not be afraid to fail and do not be afraid to rise again. Failure is not the end; it is always part of the journey,” she said. “You are here for a reason—to inspire, to lead, and to create change.”

The Power Women exhibit runs from March 21 to 28 on the fourth floor of Robinsons Galleria Cebu, with its culminating event scheduled on March 31 at The Atrium.


Also featured in this year’s edition are remarkable women leaders, including Governor Pamela Baricuatro, Rhea Navarro, Paulette Liu, Leslie Lim, Brigitte Lim, Georgia Felice Rama, Nova Noval, Andrea Aldeguer and Inner Wheel Club of the Philippines, Inc.


Through this initiative, Power Women continues to shine a spotlight on the strength, resilience, and influence of women, reinforcing the message that empowered women empower communities.
