SM Seaside City Cebu Champions Inclusion for the 47th National Disability Rights Week

Observed every mid-July under Proclamation No. 597, s. 2024, National Disability Rights Week promotes public awareness of the rights and well-being of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). This 2025, SM Seaside City Cebu proudly led Cebu’s meaningful kick-off program on July 18 at the City Wing Atrium.

In line with the national celebration from July 17-23, 2025, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region VII partnered with SM Seaside City Cebu, Persons with Disability Affairs Offices (PDAOs) from various local government units in Cebu, non-governmental organizations, and advocates, highlighting this year’s theme, “Innovation for Inclusion: Building Inclusive Communities Together.” The Autism Society Philippines - Cebu Chapter, REACH Center, and sectors for the blind and deaf, also actively took part in the kick-off.

A dedicated caravan of services from various government offices, including the Social Security System (SSS), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), and more, was made available during the celebration, providing PWDs and their families with easier access to vital programs, benefits, and support services.

This celebration underscores the rights of PWDs and the continuing need for accessible public spaces, sustainable employment opportunities, and meaningful community inclusion. SM Seaside City Cebu remains steadfast in raising awareness and extending genuine support through programs that empower every member of the community. Through this collaborative effort, SM Seaside City Cebu reaffirms its commitment to promoting inclusivity and accessibility for all.
