In a truly moving demonstration of national fellowship, the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay has extended a hand of friendship across the Philippine islands, bringing substantial relief to northern Cebu. This is not just aid—it is a heartfelt gesture to help families restore their homes, rebuild their futures, and lift their spirits following the recent destructive earthquake.
The contribution, a generous package totaling ₱2 million in supplies and financial assistance, is a dedicated expression of neighborly solidarity. These resources are specifically earmarked for immediate family relief and for acquiring essential building materials, transforming the daunting task of recovery into a shared journey.
The official turnover ceremony in Cebu was a meeting marked by genuine warmth and mutual respect. Cebu Governor Pamela S. Baricuatro welcomed the visiting delegation, emphasizing that the most valuable part of the donation was the message of care that traveled with it.

More Than Funds: A Message of Friendship
The compassionate team from Zamboanga Sibugay was proudly led by Vice Governor Richard Olegario, accompanied by Board Members Hon. Ralph Hofer Delos Santos and Hon. Pava Hofer, alongside Ms. Ruby Anna Rocamora (Executive Assistant III) and Ms. Jessa Alibutdan from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).
The delegation shared a message that resonated deeply with the spirit of the receiving community.

The True Meaning of Shared Compassion
Governor Baricuatro of Cebu spoke eloquently about the powerful meaning behind the generosity.
“𝗗𝗮𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗮 𝗶𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝘂𝗴𝗺𝗮 𝘂𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗽𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗮 (𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻). 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗶𝗱 — 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁.”
The swift deployment of these resources to the most impacted municipalities is expected to dramatically accelerate the recovery process, ensuring families can quickly return to stable, secure living conditions, knowing that they have the support of a fellow province cheering them on.
