The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) recently paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed District Collector of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Cebu, Atty. Alexandra Yap-Lumontad, to reaffirm collaboration in improving trade facilitation and strengthening ease of doing business in Cebu.
During the meeting, both parties discussed shared priorities on streamlining customs processes, improving stakeholder engagement, and addressing operational concerns affecting importers and exporters at the port.
Despite CCCI’s active role as a member of the Customs Industry Consultative and Advisory Council (CICAC) in Cebu, both parties recognized the value of establishing a regular coordination mechanism to provide a more focused platform for addressing sector-specific issues and concerns of member companies, in collaboration with other chambers in Cebu.
The initiative is intended to complement existing consultative mechanisms by enabling more structured, timely, and practical discussions that support efficient trade facilitation and improved service delivery, in line with the Ease of Doing Business agenda.
